This product is a complete set of all 25 Shardstone City foldable ruins from the Shardstone City kickstarter, supplied as digital STL files.
Shardstone City is a set of foldable ruined buildings, which print flat, print fast and fold together, making them easy to print, store and transport.
Perfect for clubs and gaming stores with limited storage space, tournament organizers who need multiple tables full of terrain, or gamers who want a 3d printable option which is fast and affordable to print, without the usual horizontal layer lines.
Here are six great reasons to pick Shardstone City for your gaming table:
- Easy to store and transport - The ruins print flat and fold together, using the floor pieces to clip-fit together. This means that the entire set can be disassembled and packed tightly for storage and transport, perfect for taking to a club or gaming store, minimizing the space it takes up in storage. If you're organizing an event, tournament or campaign and need multiple terrain tables, Shardstone City is the way to go!
- High quality - Goodbye horizontal print lines! Printing flat on the print bed avoids the usual highly visible and uniform horizontal layer lines common with FDM printing. Enable ironing on top surfaces in your slicer settings for a smooth plaster finish on the walls. On the underside, a textured build plate can be used to create a bumpy plaster texture on the interior walls, ideal for painting techniques such as ink washes and drybrushing.
- Easy to paint - The buildings are designed with 4 distinct parts - wood, stonework, plaster and metal. Printing the buildings flat means that they can also be painted flat, which makes them very easy to spraypaint with colour primer, pick out stone and wood in a different colour and then apply washes and highlights. Airbrushing is even easier!
- Designed for gamers - Everything is designed with 28-32mm scale miniatures in mind. The floors of each ruin can fit minis on 40mm bases, and each level is 2" to make vertical movement easy to measure. The sewers and caverns in the stretch goals are designed to be accessible from the edges of the gaming table, so you can have a fully playable multi-level gaming experience without needing to take the board apart mid-game.
- Quick to print, low material usage - Due to the unique flat-print & folding design, a modern FDM printer can print a ruin in a few hours and a full gaming table of terrain in the space of a week. Here is a slicer example showing a basic ruin, only 40g of filament used and under 2 hours to print! With a single spool of PLA you can print 20 ruins in 2-3 days.
-
- No supports are needed on any of the buildings, even overhangs which would need support on normal 3d printed pieces work fine with these, so balconies and intricate window panes print really well!
This product is a placeholder which currently contains STL files for only 12 ruins, which will be updated with the remainder of the ruins when the campaign completes fulfilment.
